From the gorgeous scenery to the adventurous hiking trails, New Hampshire is definitely worth the trip. Here you can read about my own personal experiences and what you can expect from the state.

  • The state’s nickname is The Granite State due to it’s history of granite mining.
  • New Hampshire was registered as the ninth state of the US as of 1788.
  • The capital is Concord and the biggest city is Manchester.
  • The state bird is the purple finch and the state flower is the purple lilac.
  • The state was named by Captain John Manson who named it after Hampshire Country, England where he grew up.
  • The Sate Motto is “live free or die”.
  • Home to the first American astronaut to go into space, who was Alan Shepard Jr.
