Vacations to new places are always exciting, but deciding what to pack can be a bit intimidating. Lucky for you though, I’ll be giving you some advice on what you should bring. New England tends to have extreme seasons, so what you’ll be packing when you go there depends entirely on the time of year.
Essentials
Regardless of what season it is, there are still a number of items you should bring with you on your trip.
- Comfortable shoes are a must. You’ll be walking around a lot, even more so if you’ll be sightseeing or hiking.
- A water bottle should be accessible as all times. It’s important to stay hydrated, especially with all the walking you’ll be doing.
- A jacket or windbreaker is really helpful since it can get windy up there.
- An umbrella is also a good thing to have since you never know when it might rain.
- A backpack or tote is important for carrying your personal items and souvenirs.
Spring and Summer
During warmer months, make sure to dress light and wear t-shirts, polos, and shorts. It’s also important to bring swimwear, towels, and sunscreen. Even if you don’t plan on swimming, it’s always good to be prepared in case you change your mind.
Fall and Winter
New England winters can be harsh, so make sure to dress warm. A heavy jacket, scarves, gloves, and thick socks are all good ideas to bring with you on your trip. Despite all these layers, make sure that you’re as comfortable as you can be.
